On April 12, researchers from McGill University who are members of the Center for Asthma in the Workplace hosted a meeting of partners and researchers from the Center at Meakins-Christie Laboratories. Special thanks go to Dr. James Martin and Ms. Liz Milne for helping to set up the event. At this, the first meeting of Year 3 for the Center, we were pleased to welcome, among other guests, Louis P. Brisson, the president of the Lung Association of Quebec. We took the opportunity to thank him most warmly on behalf of all our members for the generous contribution made by the association. We went on to introduce the recipients of scholarships funded by the Center, and the seven projects selected for Year 3. The principal investigators of each project selected for 2006 gave brief presentations, followed by a lively question period. At the next meeting, slated for the end of June, researchers who received funding in 2005 will give progress reports on their work.
